CBD Water: Should You Drink It?

CBD water!!! Everyone seems to be talking about it now.

CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol. CBD oil has been popular for quite some time.

If you walk into a health shop, you will see loads of BBD-infused vapes, gummies, and capsules.

The newest kid in the block is CBD water. It has drawn a lot of praise and criticisms as well.

This article will critically analyze CBD water and help you know whether it is worth buying or not.


Cannabidiol is a phytochemical that is found in the cannabis plant.

Cannabidiol has no psychoactive properties – quite unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This implies that it doesn’t make you or any other user feel high (1).

A lot of in-depth research has been done on the medicinal effects of CBD. Studies have shown that CBD has the potential to reduce inflammation and anxiety. It also relieves chronic pain (2, 3, 4).

Although there may be variations in dosage recommendations, most research evaluating the medicinal effects of CBD recommend at least 15mg daily (5).

Most production companies claim that they make use of nanotechnology to reduce the particle size. They claim that this small size allows the body to readily absorb the CBD and utilize it.

There are very limited studies on how nanotechnology affects CBD absorption. Particular research showed that the body readily absorbs lipid-based CBD nanoparticles (6).

There is a need for more studies to verify whether the use of nanoparticles in CBD water has any effect on absorption or not.

There is a need for more studies, no doubt. But, the current findings suggest that CBD water may not have many medicinal benefits.


Categorically speaking, this product is one of the most pocket unfriendly derivatives of CBD.

You may have to cough out $4-7 for a 16-ounce serving (473 ml) of CBD water. This cost excludes tax and shipping.

You may save some money if you buy it in bulk, but, you’ll still pay at least $3 per bottle.

This is more expensive than other forms of CBD.

CBD oil, for instance, costs at most $40 for 30 servings. This is less than $2 for a serving.

You may get significant amounts of CBD from other forms such as vapes, gummies, and capsules, and it’s much cheaper.


CBD on its own has many health benefits. However, CBD water contains very little amount of CBD.

This product is expensive, and the effects are lesser, compared to other CBD products.

As a matter of fact, you may not get any health benefits considering the fact that it loses its medicinal properties when exposed to light and air. If you want to enjoy the medicinal properties of CBD, then you’d better stick to other CBD products such as gummies, capsules, and CBD oil.
